3:02There once was a squirrel, named Whisker McTwirl He'd gather up acorns, with a flick and a swirl He'd bury them deep, in the roots of the trees But come wintertime, he'd forget where they'd be! He scratched his head, he scratched his chin Wondered where he'd been His memory's a mystery, oh what a scene The forest his evergreen screen! Oh, Whisker, Whisker, where did they go? The acorns you hid beneath the snow You dig and you scratch, you just can't recall The stash of your treasures, no luck at all! He'd run 'round the forest, in circles and loops Digging up dirt with his tiny gray boots But every spot looked just like the rest He'd shrug with a sigh, "I sure tried my best!" He climbed up high, to get a view Hoping for a clue But every tree, it looked the same Stuck in his forgetful game! Oh, Whisker, Whisker, where did they go? The acorns you hid beneath the snow You dig and you scratch, you just can't recall The stash of your treasures, no luck at all! Then one day in spring, as the flowers did bloom He found a small sprout, by a mushroom "Could it be?" he exclaimed, "An acorn I see!" But it had grown into a big oak tree! Now Whisker just laughs, "I don't need to fret I'll plant me a forest, it's the best way yet!" So he gathers his nuts, but with no need to hide He plants every one, and he does it with pride Oh, Whisker, Whisker, you found a new way To never forget where your acorns stay Now trees will grow tall, and forests will thrive Thanks to the squirrel who let acorns survive! So if you're forgetful, don't worry at all Just plant your ideas, and watch them grow tall Whisker McTwirl learned this little trick The wisest squirrel in the stick!
