Bend In The River

Waking in the half light
Is when I feel calm
I feel like the seconds are forever
And everybody's OK
Until you get that noise
And with it comes that weather
And then one day everything slips
Like smashing our windows just for fun

We get our hands dirty breaking things
That can't be fixed
We throw our hands up

We're reaching for the sky like flames

We're taking giant steps
While beating drums and secret threats
Rise like a river
And then one day somebody trips
The stumble of feet and missing beats
Upset the rhythm
Until one day everyone starts to keep
