Bonfire (A Rest)

I felt my bones shiver
Across rifts of time
I saw ghosts in the mist
And their faces like mine

Then I looked to the footsteps
And gazed on a sign
That said, "Call my name
I'll join in the fight"

Broken and withered
We will rise again
My brothers and sisters
In death we are friends

Incandescent together
A slow fadin' light
The efforts cascadin'
Our time is tonight

Fractured and feeble
Ordinary people
Puttin' resolve to the test

Nobody chose to be risen
But new life is given
When we light a bonfire to rest

Old friends and rivals
We sit by the flame
To share in the moment
Before we can claim

Our own destiny's purpose
In each of our homes
We've all got our battles
But no one's alone

Nameless and searchin'
The light keeps us warm
In need and in danger
It guides through the storm

As we share in a question
Will we meet again?
To sing by the embers
And brace for the end
