I start to hold my breath
Because I believe I need a fix more than air

It's like a new hierarchy
Built on self destruction and despair
Forgoing basic needs
To suffer from disease
But to no end this leads
The cycle repeats

Even though I know it destroys me
We are self poisoning
While believing that it will set us free

The pain that prompts me to do something
That my instinct should already be doing on its own 
The cycle repeats
