Before the worlds began to move,
Before the heav'ns were stretched abroad,
Thy sov’reign throne was fix'd above;
From everlasting thou art God.

The Lord, he reigns, and dwells in light,
Constant in glory, he commands:
The world, enduring by his might,
Still on its first foundation stands.

The Lord, the God of glory, reigns,
In robes of holiness array'd;
His constant love and pow’r sustains,
And guides the worlds his hands have made

Like floods the angry nations rise,
Aloud their forceful tempests roar,
They lift their billows to the skies,
And foam and lash the trembling shore.

Yet God, the mighty one, on high,
Controls the fiercely raging seas;
He speaks! and noise and tempest fly,
The waves bow down in gentle peace.

Eternal holiness is thine;
