Rest And Be Thankful

I will rest in The Lord and be thankful 

As I look upon all He has made 

I’ll retrace every hilltop and valley 

Where I’ve seen His great kindness displayed 

 

Oh the lengths He has gone to be near me 

Even spilling His Son’s holy blood 

What a comfort to know that my life now is whole 

Through feast or famine or flood 

 

I would have despaired 

Had I not believed 

That I would see the goodness of The Lord 

In the land of the living 

 

The Lord is my light and salvation 

My refuge and fortress for life 

Though wickedness rises against me 

I take courage with Him by my side 

 

If all other loves should forsake me 

The Lord will still call me His own 

He has taught me His ways 

He has led in grace 

He has given my heart a home
