Snowman

Every day across the way
A lonely child comes out to play
She always builds a snowman
Giving all five senses to where he stands

The snowman seems her only friend
She plays until the day's end
With no one laughing by her side
She is saved by her creative mind

But someday soon the snow will melt away
When that day comes with whom will she play
All the memories made on those snowy days
Melted away by the sun
She feels cold inside, she's leaking from her eyes
As if melted away by the sun

Oh she stays inside now
Her snowman long since melted down
I've seen her staring out the window
I know she feels she's in her death throes

She keeps a snowball in the icebox
To save a memory but to her it only mocks
The days get warmer and they're pushing ahead the clocks
When the snowball laughed at her she threw it on the rocks yeah
