Ghostlight

I lit a candle in the dark
Not to see... just to feel warm
The shadows came but didn't speak
They only stared with tired forms
I placed the flame beside my chest
Where everything had come undone
Its glow revealed what I forgot
That loneliness is shared by more
I whispered to the silent air
"If you're still here, I'll leave this light"
This ghostlight burns for me and you
Flickering but always true
