The Promise

Forget the former things
Stop dwelling in the past
I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the desert.
Pouring water on the thirsty land.
I will lead the blind by ways they have not to know.
I will turn the darkness into light before them,
Along paths unknown I will guide them.

I formed you in the womb,
I have carried you since your birth
And even to your old age
I will sustain you; I will not forsake you.

I took you from the ends of the earth,
From the farthest corners I called you.
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
I will pour my Spirit on my children;
My blessing will be on you.
So do not fear, for I am with you!
