Last night I dreamt you were knockin' on my door
The house was on fire, I was on the second floor
You were kickin' and screamin', you begged me to move
Just watched and I waited from my bedroom
You kicked down the door, you threw me over your back
We made it to the lawn before we both collapsed
There was smoke in my lungs, cheap whiskey on my breath
Well that old house, it was all that I had left

Rose to my feet, wiped the sweat from my eyes
As I watched my life turn ablaze to the sky
You turned around to make sure I was alright

Back to the flames, to the place I call my home
You followed me back so I wouldn't be alone
But the ceiling gave way, it came crashin' down on me
That's when I woke in a sweat, I was shaken by the dream
