The Poet
Ryan Bingham
4:57Our names are carved in the bark of that aspen tree, a relic of a time long passed where you still loved me And don't you know that you never did let go? Cause I can hear you laughing like the echoes of a ghost Memories of you still haunt me everywhere, I can't sit in my old car cause I can still feel ya there If I could forget every detail that ya had, I'd do it in heartbeat just so I could quit looking back And I don't resent you, so please don't get me wrong. I just wish you'd made it easy for me to move on You know your mamma called earlier this week, she asked how'd I'd been and said that she missed me All that I wanted was to hang up the phone, cause hearing her brought memories of a life that I had known But I kept talking told her all was all alright, cause I know I don't miss you now I miss a point in time If I could forget every detail that ya had, I'd do it in heartbeat just so I could quit looking back And I don't resent you, so please don't get me wrong. I just wish you'd made it easy for me to move on
