September 8th, today I feel insane
Got too many thoughts on my brain
I must spill 'em out on the page
Always sayin' I'm okay, how to know my pain?
The only way to feel better when it hurts
Is to put it down in words

I'm a poet and a soldier, go-getter and a stumbler
I'm walkin' barefoot on the city streets
Layin' awake when everybody sleeps
Little broken when you look closer, best friend and a loner
In my feelings but I learn to be tough
33, but I'm still growin' up
Always gonna be

Feel stupid when it's easy
Always gotta make it hard
I want everyone to see me
But I don't wanna be the star
Always feel like something's missin'
I'm a walkin' contradiction
Find the answers when I write it out
To remind myself
