Courage To Change

How can we tell our children what to do    
And who to be 
In this world we're in?
If all of our generation stand accused
Of being the cause
Of the mess we're in?

Greatness doesn't fall from the tree
With any great frequency 
Greatness doesn't fall naturally 
It takes courage to change our ways 

How can we look our children in the face 
And explain our recent fall?
When I was young 
The future was a beautiful place 
Now it's hard to hear that spoken at all

Out of the mouths of children comes such clarity
If we don't change our ways very soon
Where will we be?

Every day that dawns is a chance to review what to do
With the time we have
Whether it's large and loud or a quiet tiny step

Should make us feel proud
