Retrograde

This is a final announcement 
If everyone can patiently wait 
As they gradually age
And happily turn into dust
And hopefully be swept away under the rug
And then forgotten for forever up until the end of time

We'll trade our useless information
For degraded hand grenades
And blow it all out of proportion

I apologize but not sincerely 
I don't know any other way
I never asked to be here
And I've been told that I'm not the only one
Who doesn't understand 
There's nothing to be scared of 

I don't know what we can hope to achieve
Blissfully suspending all our disbelief
And feeling rust 
And feeling age
Bathing in breaking earthquake waves
And looking for some higher ground
But it's nowhere to be found 
Let's drown together 
And we'll lay all of the blame 
On mercury in retrograde 
And be buried out at sea

I guess we're right back where we started

Embracing chaos is the only way

A blanket statement for the ages
These sentiments don't resonate
I've tolerated all that I can take

I can't help but not be excited
These Promises aren't taking shape
