End Of The Drive

First thing you see when your driving up is that old live oak still standing tough 
Next to the mailbox daddy made 

And it’s a quarter mile to that old screen door that’s still hangin on from 54 
Man they don’t make em like that anymore 

Damn I used to fly down that drive 
Now I take a little more time 

There’s an old dog sittin on the front porch 
With A won’t start hand me down 73 ford 
Just a 3 on the tree sittin in the drive collecting dust until the day I die 
Little marshal tucker  playin on the radio 
A worn out chair that don’t rock no more 
And ever since the day that grandpa died 
I’ve been spending a little more time at the end of the drive 
At the end of the drive 

 I still smile every time I turn off the interstate 

That old churn rock gravel road has sure seen it’s better days 

It don’t take much to bring me back 
A Couple of kids in a Cadillac 
Takin “S” curve way too fast
