Steps Towards Your Face

Hey Lord, it's me again to say
Can You bend down Your ear today?
Hear me for I'm in need of grace
Oh no, I fell into the ditch again
Hey Lord, can you pick me up again?
Dust me off and set me on the right way

Troubles come my way, I'm sure to find them
Mountains come my way, but I can climb them

Living in a whirlwind, or malaise
Riding on a charger, but it brays
Bound to get it right now one of these days
But I've always got your grace
Here, there or any place
By leaps and bounds or single steps towards Your face

Dear Lord, please soften up my heart
Fill me with all the things I lack
Forgiveness, mercy, compassion
Hey Lord, lead my steps again today
In time I hope that I'll learn to be
Like You, if only in a small way
