I was told that growing up would be a dream
A house, a car, a job with self-esteem
But they forgot to mention the price to pay
Turns out growing up ain't child's play
No one said the tax forms felt like a test
Or that my laundry room's a place of unrest
I called for answers, but none were shown
So I'm left decoding life on my own
Batteries not included, instructions never came
I'm just pressing all the buttons, but it all feels the same
Tried to read the fine print, but the letters fade away
If there's a guide for growing up, I must've lost my way
Tried to meal prep, but I burned the rice
My paycheck's gone, and rent just raised the price
Nobody warned me the grind don't quit
