The juicy ones
"You always get the juicy ones," my sisters always said
You have to stand tall
To being called a monkey on my first day of school
To the guy who said, "You're just about ready for breeding"
To the questions of "Why is your hair weird?" so I went and put a weave in
To being suddenly outcasted, you almost feel asexual
You never feel quite pretty, you fall back on your charms
I'm just a good friend, least I'm witty
They told me to change my hair three times at school
And I bet if I'd straightened it, that would be just white- I mean, just right
Every day felt like a subtle fight
Mom's said you have to work ten times harder
And if you're smart, you have to be that little bit smarter
