The Anguished Ethereal

Hail the dawning of the outer ones
For wisdom they burn
And flicker in their pain

When the titans call for change
Revolt to the last
And refuse the dial's turn
There is too much to defend

Hosts of cosmic fires ascend
Would I be free if I gave myself to these?

Through the rage of parting skies
Delivered unto them
The eternal blazing beings
Unfettered, untold stars

Let it shine on you
The white light of day

Reverse the night's decay

I am barely more than a husk on a windowsill
But I still have my place
I can still claim my sorry few molecules of sustenance
Somewhere in the debris of shattered vaults
Through shallow breathing
I sow my black conclusion

As the titans' reign decays
Our time will come at last
When no one is concerned
With ties that fade away

As the tightened chains of age
Are wrested from our grasp
And the shaded refuge burns
With fear we greet the end
