29-Abysmal

䷜ 29-坎卦【坎為水】

習坎，有孚，維心亨，行有尚。

初六，習坎，入于坎窞，凶。
九二，坎，有險，求小得。
六三，來之坎坎，險且枕，入于坎窞，勿用。
六四，樽酒，簋貳，用缶，納約自牖，終无咎。
九五，坎不盈，祗既平，无咎。
上六，係用黴纆，寘于叢棘，三歲不得，凶。

《彖傳》：習坎，重險也。水流而不盈，行險而不失其信。
維心亨，乃以剛中也；行有尚，往有功也。天險不可升也，
地險山川丘陵也，王公設險以守其國，險之時用大矣哉。

《象傳》：水洊至，習坎。君子以常德行，習教事。

《序卦傳》：物不可以終過，故受之以坎；坎者陷也。

《雜卦傳》：坎下也。

Hexagram 29-Abysmal(Kan)【Kan as Water】

Kan, repeated, with trust, maintaining inner harmony, and with perseverance, there is progress

Line１：Repeated Kan, falling into the pit of Kan, danger
Line 2：Kan, there is danger, but by a small means one may achieve success
Line 3：Coming and going in Kan, danger and a place to rest, falling into the pit of Kan, do not use
Line 4：A bowl of wine, a pair of dishes, using an earthenware vessel, bringing in the simple through the window, in the end no blame
Line 5：Kan not filled, the ridgepole is level, no blame
Line 6：Bound with yellow ropes, placed among the thorns, for three years he cannot get free, danger

《The Judgment》：Repeated Kan, double danger. Water flows without filling, moving through danger without losing trust. Maintaining inner harmony, thus being strong in the center; with perseverance, going forward brings success. Heavenly danger cannot be ascended, earthly danger is mountains, rivers, hills, and mounds. Kings and lords set up dangers to guard their states, the use of danger is indeed great

《The Image》：Water gradually gathers, repeated Kan. The superior man, by this, maintains constant virtue and practices teaching

《The Sequence of the Hexagrams》：Things cannot always be in excess, hence it is followed by Kan; Kan means to fall into a pit
