Fire That Made Me

I was born in silence, raised by storms,
Where love was cold and rage was warm.
A child with bruises no one saw,
Learning pain was just another law.
I heard laughter through a hollow door,
But I never knew what it was for.

You can’t unlearn what carved your name,
Can’t outrun the blood, the blame.
So don’t ask why I walk alone…
It’s all I’ve ever known.
