Two Voices

I wake up with a war inside my chest,
Two shadows fighting over what is best.
One hand holds peace, the other grips a flame,
Both of them whisper, calling out my name.


And I don't know who's telling me the truth—
The one who heals or the one who bruised.
So I sit between the fire and light,
Trying to choose what's wrong or right.


I hear two voices in my mind,
One says forgive, the other says fight.
One says time will right the wrongs,
The other screams, “Burn where you belong!”
Two voices, one soul to divide,
And I just stand...Neutral inside.

One said:
“Be the river, not the storm.
Let kindness be the only form.
Turn your cheek and walk away,
Time and karma know what to say.

Other said:
“Look at your scars, look at your pain,
They smiled while you broke in the rain.
No, take control, make them pay,
Don't leave your justice to fate.”
